Japan to host Afghan reconstruction meeting
Japan will host a ministerial meeting to discuss the reconstruction of Afghanistan in Tokyo on January 21st and 22nd.
The announcement came at the end of a two-day meeting in Brussels on Afghan reconstruction.
The World Bank and the United Nations said based on an initial estimate, reconstruction costs would be about 17.8 billion dollars over the next five years as the country emerges from two decades of war.
A final assessment is to be presented at next month's Tokyo conference, where major donors are expected to announce an aid package for the war-torn country.
