Australian baby among the injured in Indonesian plane crash
An eight month old Australian girl is in hospital in Indonesia following a plane crash on Monday.
The plane, which was on a flight to the central Javanese city of Yogyakarta crashed landed in a monsoonal downpour, following apparent engine failure.
A female flight attendant was killed, and many of the passengers were injured.
The airliner - with 54 passengers and six crew - came down in a river about 500 kilometers east of Jakarta.
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokeswoman says the baby, who was travelling with her Indonesian mother, lives in Perth.
