Pakistan President to visit Washington in February
Pakistani's President, Pervez Musharraf, will meet President George W-Bush at the White House on February 13th.
The visit coincides with an intensive U-S diplomatic effort to cool tensions between India and Pakistan following an attack on parliament in New Delhi on December the 13th.
General Musharraf has been the target of concerted U-S pressure since the attacks on the United States, forcing Pakistan to abandon its links to the Taliban.
A White House spokesman, Ari Fleischer, says the United States-Pakistan partnership plays a key role in the international coalition against terrorism.
Mr Fleischer says that President Bush is looking forward to discussing regional security, economic cooperation, human rights and General Musharraf's promise to restore democracy in Pakistan.
