Vietnam's president vows tough against corrupt officials
There's another corruption scandal in Vietnam involving at least 80 police and other officials accused of being in the pay of a Ho Chi Minh City crime king.
Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong has promised tough action, but declines to say how many officials he believes might be implicated in taking money from the gangster.
Nam Can was arrested in the southern city late last year by a special police team sent from Hanoi.
The President promised that the 80 police, city officials and journalists already reported under investigation will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
